As one of the most critical logistics channels in the southwestern region of China, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor serves as a golden link for the two-way opening of the “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI). In 2023, the annual cumulative transportation volume of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor reached 861,000 TEUs, showing a year-on-year growth of 13.8%.

To ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the corridor, CR-Nanning has promoted the integration of rail-sea intermodal transport operations. This integration involves the joint office operation of three major port and road enterprises in the Qinzhou, Beihai, and Fangchenggang areas. Real-time sharing of information such as ship schedules, berths, cargo, machinery, and labor has been achieved, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of daily loading plans. The isolation wall between the automated terminal of Qinzhou Port and the railway has been removed, with both regions incorporated into customs supervision. Cargo transport processes have also been optimized to reduce the cost of intra-port shuttle transport, saving more than 100 yuan per container. This has effectively lowered the overall logistics costs in society. In 2023, the Qinzhougangdong Railway Station reduced the loading and unloading operation time for each train by 50 minutes, breaking the loading and unloading operation record seven times.

Currently, the rail-sea intermodal transport trains of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor have expanded their coverage to 144 railway stations in 18 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. The transported goods reach over 980 different categories, an increase from over 50, and are accessible to 486 ports in 120 countries and regions worldwide.
