Dongxing City, one of the first border open cities after the reform and opening-up policy, serves as the most convenient sea and land gateway for China to reach ASEAN countries. The Fangchenggang-Dongxing Railway is the westernmost section of China’s coastal corridor of the “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway network. According to the plan, it will connect to the Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi High Speed Railway, further expanding Guangxi’s trade reach with ASEAN countries. It actively contributes to the ongoing expansion of domestic and international openness, actively supports the construction of the China-ASEAN community with a shared future, and deeply integrates into the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI) by establishing a high-speed expressway.
“With its unique geographical advantage and a fast and efficient high-speed railway network, Dongxing City will become an ideal location for undertaking the transfer of industries from the eastern regions,” said Ma Li, Deputy Mayor of the city. In the first three quarters of this year, Dongxing City attracted a total investment of 5.195 billion yuan, and the Guangxi Dongxing Industrial Park in the China-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Zone attracted 105 projects.
