To improve the port’s clearance and container transshipment efficiency, CR-Harbin vigorously promoted the construction of port infrastructure, and accurately allocated transportation capacity, realizing the entire-train loading and unloading of cross-border trains. These measures effectively compressed shunting operation time, accelerating the turnover of wide-gauge vehicles and providing strong support to enhance the efficiency of goods clearance. At the same time, CR-Harbin optimized the classification of transshipment sites for imported bulk goods such as iron powder, coal, fertilizers, and grains, achieving designated loading and unloading for the same category and centralized container swapping. This increased the utilization efficiency of the yard, reducing the average transshipment time of each freight train by nearly one hour and improving efficiency by 20%.
With the increase in the volume of return journey trains, CR-Harbin has put into operation four intelligent gantry cranes at the Manzhouli Railway Port. The crane’s driver cab can move forward and backward, reducing blind spots, thus increasing operational efficiency by nearly 15%. In addition, they have opened new receiving-departure yards, compressing the time for train loading and unloading, ensuring rapid loading and unloading, quick container swapping, and fast departure of return journey trains.
